My Pets

Since childhood, I have had a great affection for dogs.  As an adult, I've gone overboard!  Our house is filled with the love of little dogs ranging from puppies to senior in age.  Take a look below at our special little bundles of joy.

Maggie - Silky Terrier (Born 1996)

Maggie was our third dog selected from a shelter in 2000 and our first female.  Francine saw her face and knew she was the dog for us.  What a character!  She snores loudly, is a finicky eater, and loves to "boing" off of furniture and people's laps at inopportune moments.

Kissie - Silky Terrier (Born 2003)

Kissie is also a rescue from a shelter.  Her previous owner left her at a boarding house while on vacation and never came back for her.

She is so loving and intelligent, but she obsesses over her toys.  As soon as I come home at night, she insists on playing with her furry hedgehog ring toy.  What a beautiful and gentle dog!

Henry - Yorkshire Terrier (Born March 8, 2005)

Henry came to our family from a pet store in Temecula, CA.  Francine was interested in Yorkies with the "baby doll face", and he fit the bill.

Since his arrival, he has proven to be very intelligent and playful.  He seems to have an unending supply of energy and need for attention.

Gertie - Yorkshire Terrier (Born February 27, 2005)

Gertie came to us the same day Henry did.  They were both at the same pet store.  Francine and I both wanted a Yorkie, but we couldn't decide on which one shoud be selected.  So we took both!

While Gertie was really shy at first, she has blossomed into a cute little dog with affectionate tendencies.

Sophie - Yorkshire Terrier (Born November 22, 2005)
Sophie came to us in late January 2006 from a local pet store.  She is the third Yorkie in our current set, and the fourth we've owned (Cricket passed away in April 2005).  Sophie is absolutely crazy with her unending energy and curiosity.  She loves every one of her brothers and sisters, and plays with them until they're worn out.  Then she comes to play with Francine and me!

Benji - Terrier Mix (Born 2005)
Benji came to us from the PAWS rescue in Upland.  His previous owners went through a divorce and neither of them wanted him.  Sadly, it appears that the wife had abused him as he fears Francine.  Benji is extremely sharp and well-behaved.  He is affectionate, lively, and obedient and is very interested in pleasing us both.

Bonnie - Yorkie/Doxie Mix (Born 2007)

We got Bonnie from a local rescue.  She had been in a cage with much larger dogs and was quite ill when the shelter rescued her.  She was just a puppy when we got her in November 2007.  She has a great energy level and loves affection from all humans.

Cheetos - Chihuahua/Doxie Mix (Born 2007)

Cheetos got his name because he resembles Chester Cheetos from the commercials.  Francine found him at a Petsmart rescue one day, dressed in a sailor's suit.  Right then she knew he was hers!  He has a huge underbite that makes him look goofey.  He gets into trouble almost all the time, and loves his best buddy Bonnie.

Riley - Yorkie/Doxie Mix (unknown birthdate)

Riley came from PAWS Rescue.  He was put up for adoption by a family that was moving.  How they could have left such a sweet, tender, loving dog is beyond me.  Riley loves to sit in yor lap and cuddle, and acts more like a cat than a dog.  He is a strong protector of our house and of Francine and he walks the perimeter of our back yard every time he goes outside -- just to make sure his family is safe.
